Introduction

Revolving Writer is an international collaborative project where writers, artists, architects - and anyone else who might like - can take a turn to create a cross-genre and non-linear narrative. Revolving Writer acts as an amorphous creative platform and is a space dedicated to experimentation. Established in 2006, we hope that the cacophony of different voices continues to produce something new, interesting and ultimately cohesive.

There are only two rules - the 'writer' must change at the end of each instalment, and each must in some way interact with what has gone before. These aside, each Revolving Writer is encouraged to create and develop at will in whichever media they choose. Each edition is archived and can be re-used, re-edited and re-developed (see Previous Editions under the Novel section). Polaroid characters can also be used a props (see Characters under Novel).

The project apes a democratic society and asks all contributors to pass through the Constitution. Acceptance of the basic rules brings participants into the community of Revolving Writers.

Current Installment

Online now, an edition by Katie Keetley who has opted to tidy up the narrative and explore our favourite split personality, Aisha/Constance, and try to figure out who on earth Charles and Prebble actually are.

Originally hailing from the great city of Leicester, Katie has lived in London for four years and puts her considerable brain, charm and wit to work in a career in the Probation Service. Rather her than me. Her favourite spot is the top of the hill in Greenwich Park.

Coming Up

Big changes are afoot for Revolving Writer. Current writer Hannah Adcock has been asked to submit a piece of work which will allow us to step into a brave new world. Expect a big announcement in the Fall which will involve gallery spaces, Sunday Salons and more from writers, artists and theatre friends galore.
